A Vision Rooted in District 10
Andrew Cyburt is not a career politician. He is a neighbor, a small business owner, and someone who firmly believes that the best solutions come directly from the people they affect.
Born and raised in Harper Woods, Andrew has a long history in the community. He grew up learning the value of hard work from boy scouts and various entry-level jobs, eventually working as a landscaping foreman in Grosse Pointe Woods. Today, he runs his own small business providing web development and 3D printing services to fellow community members. He knows firsthand the real-world, everyday challenges that working families and small enterprises face in District 10.
Community First
"There is no power greater than a community discovering what it cares about."
Andrew loves being involved in the community. As a Board Member for the Harper Woods Library, he supports local educational goals and volunteers to help run events for the youth. He has also served as an event host for the Michigan Humanists (Detroit Chapter) and previously as Co-Chair and Web Steward of the Michigan Green Party, where he helped facilitate statewide initiatives.
Plans for Implementation
The best time for drastic changes was yesterday, but we can't afford to make things worse by moving too fast. Andrew has outlined a tiered approach to his platform:
- The Short-Term Pilot (Small-Scale Testing): He recognizes the radical nature of his platform and is explicitly willing to test these theories and policies on a smaller scale before ramping up. If elected, he plans to practice his assembly model within District 10 using his own office resources.
- The Long-Term Movement: By proving that this "stewardship" model works on a district level to reduce polarization, increase engagement, and produce better policy outcomes, he hopes to build the momentum and objective data necessary to eventually pass his larger, statewide structural reforms.
Beyond Politics
Andrew enjoys many hobbies, including kayaking around Belle Isle. He even volunteered to help reopen the aquarium there! He also loves camping at state parks, rock wall climbing, and enjoying roller coasters.

He is a big fan of board games and video games. Some of his favorite video games include Pillars of Eternity, Guild Wars, Death Stranding, and Baldur's Gate 3. For board games, he loves to break out Risk, Settlers of Catan, and Spirit Island.
He is also passionate about sci-fi and fantasy books. Some favorites include Name of the Wind, Stormlight Archive, and The Martian. If you are looking for something to read or watch that forms a solid foundation for the community changes Andrew wants to see, he highly recommends the book Bowling Alone and the documentary Join or Die.

Building a Better Michigan
In Lansing, Andrew wants to bring his professional skills in project coordination, strategic planning, and community engagement to fight for everyday people. He will champion policies that support local prosperity, protect our shared resources, and establish genuine, direct democratic input from the district. This campaign is about building a sustainable movement that outlasts any single election.
