Potluck Assemblies

The heart of Collective Policy Making. Neighbors gathering face-to-face to share food, rebuild social trust, and shape the policies that affect our daily lives.

What Is a Potluck Assembly?

A Potluck Assembly is our version of a Community Assembly — a proven model of participatory democracy used around the world. The twist? We add food. Everyone's welcome to bring a dish, grab a plate, and sit down with their neighbors.

But this isn't just a social gathering. It's the foundation of how Andrew believes politics should work:

1

Neighbors Reconnect

Civic isolation is the root of political dysfunction. Assemblies rebuild the trust and social bonds that make democracy work.

2

Ideas Are Drafted

Together, we workshop real policy proposals — from neighborhood infrastructure to state legislation — in plain language anyone can contribute to.

3

Your Steward Acts

Andrew carries the community's consensus to Lansing and fights to pass it — no personal discretion, no party bosses.

Learn More

Our focus on rebuilding local civic engagement is deeply inspired by the book Bowling Alone and the documentary Join or Die. If you are curious about the critical importance of community bonds in a healthy democracy, these are excellent resources.
